About Us
The Campbell Elementary Teachers Association is the professional voice of certificated personnel of the Campbell Union School District. Our organization represents a wide range of certificated personnel from classroom teachers including preschool through middle school, program specialists, nurses, teachers on special assignment, speech/language pathologists, curriculum specialists, home school teachers, psychologists, counselors, math coaches, literacy coaches, Equity coaches, all non-administrative program managers, and other other credentialed personnel that hold positions that are not a supervisory position. Our total membership is 350 full and part-time professionals.
We are a charter of the California Teachers Association/National Education Association (CTA/NEA). Our organization is led by a eight member Executive Board who are elected by the membership and a Site Representative Council of 40 members. Sites elect representatives each year for the Representative Council. Our Executive Board and Representative Council meet monthly during the school year.
Our Representative Council meetings are business meetings with an agenda. These meetings are open to the membership. All members/visitors must sign the attendance log. In order to speak before the Representative Council you must be recognized by the chair.
The main purpose of our organization is to support our membership as employees of the Campbell Union School District. We negotiate the salary and working conditions and defend teachers’ rights. In addition, we support public education at the state and national level. We provide professional development opportunities for our members throughout the school year. We work collaboratively with the Campbell Union School District on our Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment Program (B.T.S.A.) and Peer Assistance and Review Program (P.A.R).
CETA believes that all children should have their education delivered to them by trained professionals who work in a clean, safe environment. We are the public schools. We support public education. And, CETA is proud of the job we do for the students of the Campbell Elementary School District.
